" Windows installer service cannot update one or more protected windows files"
and the application is not getting installed......
Don't worry...
This error is caused because one file will be missing from :
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\40\bin
So you have to just download a file "fp4Autl.dll" or get this file from your XP bootable cd.
1. Open folder named as "I386"
2. Then "FP40EXT.cab"
3. Then copy "fp4Autl.dll"
and Paste in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\40\bin
Now install your application it will work......
